Long time

It’s a been a while since I’ve used this.

Originally this was meant to be, first, a blog to replace the LJ, and then as a placeholder for comic book work I was slowly chiselling away at.

Now this is just the front for the not quite eponymous PUMP forums.

For a while I figured this place would just sit and fester, maybe die off, but that really isn’t wholly a reflection of what has been going on lately - I haven’t quite given up on writing comics, etc. Things I’ve tried to collaborate with other people on just haven’t gone very well - at least in so far as getting the other person in the collab to pony up their page. I suppose I should just do everything myself, but I really just don’t have the kind of time to do that anymore.

I think I know a little more how Andy feels working on Griggs when he can - the major hurdle being that he has a real 9-5/365 job like the rest of us slobs; and when it comes to brass tacks, he gets work done - but when you’ve worked a really long 10-12 hour day you don’t really have the energy to devote to drawing or scripting, or what have you, and frankly that is a drag because you have something that you really want to tell people storywise, and the crushing relaity is that until you’re independently wealthy or able to make a living off what you dream about, there really isn’t a whole lot you can do to get around the necessity of that 9-5er.

I guess I will simply post up bits and such from the script and maybe some dabbling of character designs if I get the chance, but for now I’m focusing on only one story and just trying to write the hell out of it when I get the chance.

I’ll probably keep scripting the Worst Comic Book Ever if only because I still chuckle at it when I read the horrible script I wrote so long ago, and I may just submit it to some horrible little publisher for kicks because I like the idea that someone somewhere is so depraved as to think it’s a good idea to publish it. For now, though, I’ll just stick to this industrial revolution/nouveau-scientific comic book story thing I have been musing for a long time. I had a longish script for it, but then deleted it all after re-reading it. It was horrible and the writing was hackneyed.

Maybe if I think it’s good enough, I’ll post up some snippets here and there.
